Showroom Orangery 3

Posted on August 8, 2013 by Rodney Hewitt

Fitting on the Showroom Orangery is now almost complete.

As a finishing touch we are now working on a new product, the Stone Featured Fascia & Pillars. These new products are fitted on to the structural timber frame with specialised adhesive, they have a core of ICF and are coated with stone render, which can be finished in any type of stone: York Stone, Cotswold Stone, even a Granite Effect Stone.

We are really pleased with the appearance, previously we have always finished our Orangery Cassettes with upvc fascia, which looks great, but the new stone finished options really add a new dimension to what is available with Orangery designs.

Once the stone work is pointed and finished we will post a completed picture

Solar Control Roof

Posted on May 9, 2013 by Rodney Hewitt

One of the most common concerns we talk to our customers about is keeping a Conservatory cool in the summer. With the concern in mind the most effective tool for solving that problem is Pilkington’s ‘Blue Activ Solar Control Roof Glass’.

However most people associate glass with heat, like a green house, so the thought of increasing the amount of glass actually decreasing heat may be a difficult one to reason. But stats don’t lie and according to Pilks Blue Activ Glass can be up to 38% more effective at reducing the glare of sunlight and the build up of heat that the best poly carbonates available……..

Not to mention the fact that it’s a far more attractive material, a good example of this is seen in beautiful conservatory, pictured below, that we installed in the Conwy area
